Feathers & Finishing Carpentry offers renovation services from start to finish, implementing what we call “integrated” renovations. We incorporate a collaborative approach between design and building systems, where all aspects of a renovation project are coordinated from the very beginning.
From the smallest project to a whole-house remodel, we continuously evaluate and communicate any underlying issues that could impact the longevity of your home.

In additional to installing cabinets, we ensure the rest of your kitchen is functioning as intended. Waterproofing, insulation, flooring, backsplash, and lighting; we ensure all these elements come together to make a beautiful and functional kitchen.

Let us help with your bathroom renovation from design to finish. We work with local and provincial suppliers to get you the best products and results!
We install custom-tiled and pre-fabricated showers and bathtubs, as well as vanities, backsplashes, tiles, and heated floors.

We have experience in flooring repair and installation, including materials such as vinyl, laminate, hardwood, and tile. We also work with electricians to install heated flooring systems.
If you’re looking to customize your space, we install tiled backsplashes, showers, and bathtubs.
Other services include existing floor removal and repair, subfloor installation and repair, squeak removal, and creating smooth transitions between flooring types and styles.

Asbestos Services
WorkSafeBC now requires an asbestos survey and test before renovating an older home.
Feathers & Finishing Carpentry is certified to perform asbestos surveys and testing, as well as small-scale asbestos abatement Projects.

We are certified to conduct Asbestos Surveys and Testing following WorkSafeBC standards.
If you’re looking to complete renovations on a home built prior to the late 1990’s, WorkSafeBC requires an asbestos survey and test to ensure asbestos is not released during construction activities.
Our services include a pre-renovation inspection, collection of physical samples, and testing at an approved testing facility. We then provide a comprehensive report that includes the results of the survey and testing and any recommendations for future renovations.

Before you renovate your older home built before the late 1990s, WorkSafeBC now requires asbestos survey and testing in areas that will be disturbed during renovations.
Many older homes contain asbestos, which can be found in dozens of different building materials. If your home has asbestos that will be disturbed, it must be safely removed by workers qualified and trained in asbestos abatement prior to the renovation taking place.
Asbestos is a mineral that was used in more than 3000 building materials from the 1950s to 1990s, including many common building materials such as drywall, textured ceiling coat, insulation, vinyl flooring, and window putty. Asbestos breaks down into small fibres as it ages or when it is disturbed, releasing the fibres into the air where they can linger for hours. Breathing in asbestos fibres damages your lungs, causing serious health problems, including cancer. Without proper testing and abatement, homeowners and anyone who repairs, renovates, or demolishes older buildings in B.C. is at risk of inhaling asbestos fibres.

Did you know that if you hire a registered contractor who is not making required payments to WorkSafeBC, you could be liable for insurance premiums relating to the work or service they provide to you? No matter who you select as your Contractor, make sure they are covered by WorkSafeBC.

Accidents are never planned, but when they do happen it’s important to know that you won’t be left alone to pick up the pieces. We maintain Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance so that you and your home are covered.
Always make sure your contractor maintains CGL insurance so that you are covered in the event of bodily injuries or property damage.

Just because the Project is over, doesn’t mean we disappear. We offer a 1-year warranty on our installation services, and offer our support if product defects occur.
